Some doctors at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) may participate in protected industrial action on Thursday, October 1, 2026, involving a four-hour stop-work period from 1.30pm to 5.29pm.

Our teams are working closely together to ensure patients and families continue to receive safe, high-quality care.

At this stage, we expect most appointments and planned surgeries to proceed as scheduled.

If you have surgery

We currently expect most planned surgeries to proceed as scheduled.

If changes are required, we will contact affected patients and families directly.
