Some doctors at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) will stop work for 24 hours.

The action will begin at 7am on Tuesday 15 September and end at 6:59am on Wednesday 16 September 2026.

Our teams are working together to make sure patients and families continue to receive safe care.

If you have an appointment with Specialist Clinics

We currently expect your appointment to proceed, but it may be affected. If so, we will contact you directly.

You may:

• Wait longer than usual
• See a different doctor
• Have your appointment changed or cancelled

If you have a question, please call Specialist Clinics on 9345 6180 between 8:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

You can also reschedule your appointment online via the Specialist Clinics change of appointment form.

If you have surgery

While we expect your surgery to proceed, some planned surgeries during the stop work period may need to be rescheduled. However, we are working to avoid this as best we can.

We will contact patients and families if they are impacted.
