Dr Jon Quach, a long-standing researcher at the Centre for Community Child Health, was recently awarded the Early Career Researcher prize at the Melbourne University Graduate School of Education – congratulations Jon!

Jon has been awarded for his work at the interface between children’s health and education. He draws data from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) and the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) to examine the link between children’s health and their learning outcomes. Jon’s work can identify areas where, potentially, interventions can be applied in primary schools in order that all children can achieve the best outcomes.

His award is particularly significant because of the powerful collaboration that it represents between the Centre for Community Child Health and the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, as highlighted by the award night’s keynote speaker.
