The Centre welcomes the establishment of a Commonwealth Early Years Strategy and its commitment to ‘create a new integrated approach to the early years and prioritise the wellbeing, education and development of Australia’s children’.

The Early Years Strategy Discussion Paper, published in February 2023, sought to begin a national conversation about what we want for children and families, and how to direct our efforts to achieve these aspirations.

The Centre prepared a response to the Discussion Paper. Our emphasis was on prevention, early intervention and redressing inequity and disadvantage to deliver the greatest benefits to children now and into the future.
