Experts come together to discuss improving outcomes for vulnerable children

On Wednesday 31 October, the Centre for Community Child Health brought together a group of international and Australian experts to discuss ways that we can support and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and their families at the Improving Outcomes: Sustaining Change seminar.

The seminar addressed key questions including, what the current evidence tells us about vulnerable children and their families and how can researchers and doctors engage all families and build capacity to achieve better outcomes for children.

With a focus on research, policy and practice, the seminar focussed on how best to bring about sustained change in outcomes for children.

Robert Kahn from the Cincinatti Children’s Hospital in Ohio discussed measurement for impact-understanding disadvantaged communities families and children. Watch Rob’s presentation below. You can also download his presentation here (PDF 1.5MB).

Michael Little, Co-Director of The Social Research Unit, Dartington, UK discussed taking a systems approach to place-based interventions for children. Watch Michael’s presentation below.
