Investing in the earliest years of life builds a solid foundation for children’s development and increases everyone’s potential to contribute to society as productive adults.
In fact, we are increasingly learning that programs that support children in the early years are the very best investments we can make as a country.
This is because quality early childhood education and care programs have the power to amplify children’s development at a time when their brain development is most rapid.
In a recent segment featured on the ABC’s Conversation Hour, Centre Director Professor Frank Oberklaid has called for “bipartisan commitment to the research that shows investment in early childhood is the best economic investment that any country can make”.
