School students with additional needs

children-additinal-needs-reportIn 2015, as part of Education State initiatives, the Victorian State Government conducted a review into how funding for students with additional needs is structured and provided. The review provided an opportunity to look at funding provision ahead of the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The Centre for Community Child Health provided two reports for that review – one into provisions for students who have an autism spectrum disorder, and one for students who have a specific reading disorder, including dyslexia.

The Government has now released the full review of the Program for Students with a Disability, accepting 21 of the 25 recommendations, with the aim of maximising learning for all students with additional health and developmental needs.
