The Government of South Australia is providing up to 20,000 new parents each year with text messages linking them to helpful raisingchildren.net.au videos.
New parents can sign up for the service when they register the birth of their child and will begin receiving text messages around eight weeks after the child’s birth, up to the age of two.
Executive Director of raisingchildren.net.au, Dr Julie Green, said the videos would help new parents support their child’s learning and development.
“Parents are learning as they go and this initiative provides a trusted source of information to visit anytime, anywhere; when they have questions or are seeking reassurance,” she said.
“Our videos provide practical tips on some of the most common challenges parents navigate in the first two years of raising a child; including how to pick-up on baby cues that let us know they are tired, hungry, want to play or need a break.”
