Mick’s mammoth mission for young people

Mick Creati, a Paediatrician at The Royal Children’s Hospital, has started his journey across the Nullarbor to raise money for the Chronic Illness Peer Support Program (ChIPS).

Mick’s journey began this week in Perth, and will see him ride his recumbent bicycle 4,000 kilometres in 20 days across the Nullarbor to Sydney.

Mick hopes to raise $20,000, with all funds going towards supporting the ongoing running of the ChIPS Program.

The Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) Program is for young people aged 12 to 25 years living with a chronic illness. ChIPS is based at Department of Adolescent Medicine, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

ChIPS is a vibrant program for young people, led by young people. ChIPS offers a wide range of opportunities for young people including discussion groups, social events, leadership opportunities and camps.

Mick joined the RCH as a Paediatric trainee in 1990, and has been passionate about working with and supporting young people since this time.

You can donate to support Mick’s journey through the RCH Foundation website and track his journey here.
