The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) will be treated to a live reading of The Cow Tripped Over the Moon by children’s author Tony Wilson, as part of tomorrow’s National Simlutaneous Storytime event.
The reading will be broadcast live via the RCH Facebook page at 11am on May 24, as well as pre-recorded for sharing with other children’s hospitals around the country. The live broadcast will also be streamed to RCH patient rooms, so patients who are too unwell to attend the event can still tune in and participate in the fun from their rooms.
Now in its 17th year, National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously around the country, with this year’s official launch reading taking place at the RCH.
