The 2017 Good Friday Appeal has launched and features a new face of the appeal, 18-month-old patient Remy Dyer!
Remy has been a patient at the RCH since he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in March 2016.
It was Remy’s grandmother who first noticed he wasn’t using his left arm. Remy’s parents sought advice at the RCH and he was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Infantile Ganglioglioma, a rare tumour that was spreading its tentacles through his brain.
After two long and difficult surgeries, RCH neurosurgeon Dr Juliet Clayton was able to remove almost all of the tumour, and Remy is now an energetic toddler who loves playing with trucks and reading books with his family.
You can watch Remy’s inspiring story below.
The RCH is beyond thankful each year for the Good Friday Appeal, which brings together people from all across the community to raise funds for ground breaking research, state of the art equipment and technology, education and family centred care programs, so the RCH can continue to provide the best possible care to patients and families.
