AAAH 2018 Youth Health Conference

This year the Australian Association for Adolescent Health (AAAH) has partnered with the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMH) to deliver the upcoming 2018 Youth Health Conference.

Conference website: https://www.youthhealth.com.au/

Dates: 7 – 9th November 2018

Venue and accommodation: Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, 158 Ferny Avenue, Surfer’s Paradise, Queensland.

The theme for the conference is ‘Owning Future Change’, which aims to focus on the responsibility to finding solutions between young people and the general population whether it be state, national or on a global scale. We are all able to act upon the need to bring about change for the future of adolescent health and wellbeing.

Major topics that will be covered include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people’s health, diversity and health, and sexuality education and sexual health, technology, mental health, and young people with chronic illness and in order to enforce a strong advocacy for the improvement of health and wellbeing for adolescents.

The Centre for Adolescent Health strongly supports AAAH and look forward to seeing our collaborators at the 2018 Youth Health Conference. The conference will motivate, educate and showcase research, innovative programs and practical resources via an extensive and comprehensive program consisting of keynote presentations, proffered paper and poster sessions, workshops and networking.

Highlights for this year’s conference include the involvement of two CAH staff members; Dr Rohan Borschmann, who is a member of the 2018 organising committee and Dr Peter Azzopardi, as a keynote speaker.

Youth Forum

Do you want to be a voice for young people throughout Australia? If so, AAAH needs you!

AAAH wants to hear and know what is important to you. How can the government and other leaders in youth health support you and your peers in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for young people across Australia? How can you be more involved in research or share your opinion on programs that are being delivered or developed to support Australia’s youth?

If this is something you might be interested in, AAAH wants to have you at the 2018 Youth Health Conference at the Gold Coast. You’ll be able to participate in the Youth Forum, network with national and international leaders in the field of adolescent and youth health, listen to some amazing speakers, and most of all – have a bit of fun!
