Adolescent Health Linkage Program

The Adolescent Health Linkage Program is set to continue for another two years thanks to generous support of The Invergowrie Foundation.

The program involves the delivery of an interdisciplinary professional develpment program for a select group of women working with young people in regional, rural and remote communities in Victoria.

The residential program is based at the Centre of Adolescent Health and incorporates site visits to the Adolescent Forensic Health Service (AFHS) and Jesuit Social Services. Over the four days women hear from researchers, clinicians and practitioners from the Centre of Adolescent Health about issues such as mental health, drug and alcohol use, self-harming, sexual health, eating disorders, homelessness, and ethical other practice issues related to working with young people. 6159 INV

“The advantages of rural woman being brought together is it allows for strong relationships and support networks to be developed amongst youth workers facing similar limitations in their communities. The sharing of stories makes the experience more real and re-ignites passion and determination to make a change.” 2008 Participant.

Thanks go to the women who’ve so willingly shared their knowledge and experience with us and each other, to create a unique learning environment for everyone involved.

This years program will be held in the third week of September. For further inquiries please contact Lara Cullen at lara.cullen@rch.org.au or by phone on 03 9345 6671.
