Welcome 2019 postgrad students!

The Centre for Adolescent Health welcomes 31 new students to the 2019 ‘Adolescent Health and Wellbeing’ postgraduate program. We’re thrilled to have you onboard, enhancing your capabilities to work with young people to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Centre, through the Department of Paediatrics (Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences) at the University of Melbourne, has been educating people on Adolescent Health and Wellbeing since 1995! We are proud to be one of the leading research institutes for adolescence in the world.

This year, we welcome teachers, nurses, police officers, social workers, youth workers, teachers, doctors and professionals from many other disciplines to the course. This means you will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from other professionals from a range of sectors.

Through the course we hope you will have the opportunity to extend your professional knowledge. You will gain deeper insights into the external factors that impact on adolescents’ lives, the underlying causes of young people’s health problems and learn key skills to implement beneficial programs for youth. You are likely to learn a lot from each other.

At the Centre we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional teaching and learning experience through utilising current research, having a passion for teaching and continuing to work alongside and learn from young people. Possibly even more than this, this cross-disciplinary learning is professional development for us too and we enjoy learning with our students!

We look forward to the teaching and learning experience with our postgrads in adolescent health and wellbeing, throughout the year ahead.
