Farewell to Andrea Krelle

We will soon farewell Andrea Krelle who has spent a total of 16 years at the Centre for Adolescent Health, a period in which she has demonstrated remarkable versatility. Following her initial career in teaching she switched to health education, first working with the Centre for Adolescent Health in a drug education role within the Parkville Youth Justice Centre, then within the beyondblue Schools Research Initiative, before her current role.

For the past decade, Andrea has been the coordinator of the University’s postgraduate program in Adolescent Health and Wellbeing, overseeing the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing. During this time, Andrea oversaw major innovations within the postgraduate program. This included redeveloping it as a fully online program (one of the earliest Melbourne programs), introducing the oncology stream, and leading the formation of the Master program.

She will be greatly missed at the Centre, and by her many students. However, as a transition to retirement (don’t mention the word!) we are hoping to persuade her to stay on in a casual teaching role.

In the meantime, please circulate the position description for her replacement.

The role of Academic Coordinator – Adolescent Health and Wellbeing includes:

  • Teaching, supervising and assessing the Master of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing program and the University of Melbourne.
  • Contribute to research projects through undertaking and engaging in both independent and professional research.
  • Provide leadership and input into decisions about teaching and learning, fund sourcing, scholarships, training, mentoring and support for program staff.

Applications close on the 8th July 2018.
