It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our former Chairman, Tony Beddison AC, early Tuesday morning.
Tony will be fondly remembered by the RCH community for his extraordinary contribution to children’s health in Victoria and beyond. For almost 10 years, Tony served as the Chairman of The Royal Children’s Hospital and will leave a great legacy, having worked tirelessly particularly to champion the build of our state-of-the-art hospital.
He was also a Member of the RCH Foundation Board and a Director of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Tony, Robyn and the Beddison family were generous donors to the RCH Foundation, with a particular focus on supporting our Neurology Department.
As a successful businessman, Tony made his mark in staffing and recruitment, leading the Beddison Group since 1977.
For his service to business and passionate commitment to the community, Tony was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2002 and awarded the Centenary Medal in 2003. In 2016, he was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).
The RCH’s heartfelt condolences are with Tony’s wife Robyn and the Beddison family at this time.
