Generous Victorians smash GFA record

Richmond InternetEDITThe 2015 Good Friday Appeal raised an incredible $17,109,063.22 for The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), surpassing last year’s record of more than $16.8 million.

“The generosity of the Victorian community, and their support for our hospital, is overwhelming,” said CEO Professor Christine Kilpatrick.

“The money the appeal raises makes the difference between being a good children’s hospital and a great children’s hospital,” she said.

While fundraising activities took place across Australia, the RCH hosted a special day for the children too sick to go home for Easter.

Celebrity guests, sporting stars and other well-known personalities came to the hospital to lend their support to the appeal and meet patients, families and staff.

Special guests, included the Easter Bunny, Jessica Mauboy, Justice Crew, Spongebob Squarepants, Princess Elsa, Border Protection puppies and numerous AFL teams.
