Brax is in safe hands at the RCH

Baby Brax Jackson had emergency open heart surgery six days ago, at only two weeks old. The Wodonga baby was born with a common childhood heart defect that strained his heart and changed its normal blood flow.

Having a child with a heart defect that requires immediate surgery after birth is understandably anxiety provoking. But parents Jasmine and Jackson Brent are coping well knowing that their baby is in the capable hands of the surgeons at The Royal Children’s Hospital.

Little Brax will need another operation in the coming months to repair his heart, by closing the hole between the left and right ventricle.
