The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) has been listed as an exposure site for a recently diagnosed case of measles.
If you visited one of the locations listed on the Chief Health Officer’s Health Alert, please monitor yourself and your family for symptoms of measles over the next 7 to 18 days.
Measles is a highly contagious viral illness. Early symptoms include a fever over 38°C, a cough, runny nose, sore red eyes and tiredness. A red, blotchy rash usually appears 3 to 4 days later, starting on the face and spreading.
If you develop any of these symptoms please contact your Local Public Health Unit and let them know about you or your family’s exposure and symptoms.
