Bringing innovation into everyday care: Insights from Victoria’s genomics journey

Synopsis

Genomics has moved rapidly from being purely a research tool to being part of routine care in many specialities and health services. Past Grand Round presenters have described how this has enhanced their service – how genomic care may improve patient outcomes, is cost-effective and can be delivered rapidly for acute cases.

The Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance member organisations – including the RCH – have worked together for over a decade to catalyse the implementation of genomics in health services across Victoria and its adoption by health professionals.

By design, Melbourne Genomics will draw to a close at the end of this year.  This Grand Round presentation will present insights from across this highly-impactful program and its many sites to answer the question:  how can change not only be created but sustained?
