SYNOPSIS
Research at the Melbourne Children’s Campus was recently described in the New England Journal of Medicine as ‘leading to a paradigm shift in our understanding of lung disease in cystic fibrosis’. This comes at a time of major advances in our ability to treat people with CF. Lessons learnt from CF research and clinical care will resonate with all those caring for children with chronic conditions. In this talk some of the new and exciting therapeutic advances will be presented. This calls for a clinical approach targeting disease prevention, rather than just mitigation.
