The Executive were saddened to learn of the recent death of Dr Fred Jensen.
Frederick Owen Jensen MB, ChB, DDR, MRACR, FFR. 13.6.1932-16.1.2019.
Dr Jensen undertook training in radiology at RCH in the late sixties. After further traing in the UK he was the Director of Radiology at RCH, between 1972 and 1976, following the retirement of Dr Hiller.
After a period in private practice he returned as a consultant at RCH in the late seventies and then worked at The Queen Victoria Medical Centre and later at Monash Medical Centre where he was Director of Radiology between 1992 and 2001.
In 2003 he was asked to take over again as a temporary Director of Radiology at RCH and he returned for two years before finally retiring in 2005.
Fred was always a “larger than life” presence in the Medical Imaging world and he will be remembered with much affection by many who benefitted from his contribution and wisdom.
