On Tuesday 1 October, one of Melbourne’s most recognisable comic talents, Rod Quantock will be the special guest to officially open the Young People’s Art Exhibition at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
To run from Tuesday 1 to 5 October, the Exhibition consists of around 200 pieces of artwork by young people around Victoria, including patients at the Hospital who are disadvantaged socially, educationally, because of health concerns or geographically isolated.
The Exhibition provides an opportunity for young people to display their creative works to the public, and in doing so, provides a forum for them to share some of their life and cultural experiences.
The launch will also include a singing performance by a group of patients at the Hospital who will present their experiences of coping with adolescent life and health issues.
This is the second year that the Exhibition has been held at the Royal Children’s Hospital. It is part of the activities of the Centre for Adolescent Health, Australia’s leading adolescent health organisation, that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
