The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal today launched its special poster, which features 18-month-old cutie Isaac Jones.
Isaac became a star at the RCH last year after undergoing surgery for a misshapen head. His head was growing disproportionally long and narrow – a condition known as scaphocephaly. The condition causes the sutures along the top of his skull to fuse early, forcing his brain to grow towards the back of his head while pushing fluid to the front.
Plastic surgeons David Chong and Tony Holmes performed the ‘Melbourne procedure’ on Isaac six months ago. This technique was pioneered at the RCH and has proved highly successful.
Isaac’s parents Troy and Lisa are thrilled with his progress and delighted that he has been selected as the 2010 RCH Good Friday Appeal poster child.
