Melburnians will gain a special insight into the impact of the RCH on their city thanks to the launch of the Good Friday Appeal Yarra Tram. The tram features photos of RCH patients past and present, ranging in age from a few weeks to 70 years.
The oldest face to decorate the tram is June Brayley, who received treatment for burns at the RCH in 1932. This morning June joined around 100 other patients and friends of the Good Friday Appeal (GFA) on the steps of Parliament House to officially launch the 80th GFA, and the tram, as one of its icons.
This year’s GFA poster child, two-year-old Scarlett McGowan, was delighted to see her giant face on the carriage. She was even more excited when she spotted the enormous 80th GFA birthday cake inside Parliament House.
