Fancy a ride in the holden airship?

Bidders at the American Women’s Auxiliary (AWA) Annual Gala Ball on June 22nd will have the chance of a lifetime – an opportunity to bid at auction for a ride in the Holden Airship while supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The successful bidder and three friends will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the airship over the city of Melbourne on a one-hour ride.

The passenger compartment of the airship – the gondola – holds only five people plus the pilot, while nineteen ground crew members keep it in the air.  Rides in the Holden Airship are not offered for purchase to the general public – they are only available as prizes in competitions or auction at fundraisers.

‘We’re thrilled to have such a unique experience to auction,’ said AWA president, Debbie Kimberley.  ‘But because this is the first time Holden has offered this opportunity, we have no idea what reserve price to place on this prize.  We anticipate there’ll be fierce bidding for this fabulous opportunity.’

‘As a long time supporter of the AWA, we are delighted to offer a ride in the Holden airship as an auction item for this very worthy cause,’ said Cathy Sheehan, GM Holden National Manager – Corporate Responsibility.

To book tickets or register your bid contact Debbie Kimberley on 03 9885 0115.

The airship will depart from Essendon airport and the winning bidder may select a date and time for the ride from a schedule provided by Holden.  The schedule may be subject to change due to weather conditions.

Proceeds from the ball will support The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Neuroscience Centre.
