Last night Coen Ashton attended the annual Pride of Australia National Medals in Sydney where he was awarded the night’s greatest honour, the inaugural People’s Choice medal.
Coen is also Queensland’s Child of Courage 2011 winner, a medal he was awarded after he jet skied 2000km along the Murray River to raise awareness for organ donation.
Coen has cystic fibrosis and Type 1 diabetes and is a patient at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). He is currently awaiting a double lung transplant.
It’s no surprise the Herald Sun said Coen “quickly proved to be the crowd’s favourite” at last night’s awards. What an amazing achievement and so well deserved!
