Andrei Kononov joined the RCH team in July as our new Executive Chef. He brings extensive commercial cooking experience and is passionate about getting to make a difference through the work he does.

Building works are now underway to create a larger RCH Emergency Department, with 20 extra treatment spaces, a second waiting room, new staff facilities and relocated ambulance bays.

Erin and Jacob’s little boy Finley was born with a severe form of spina bifida. The first time parents discovered his condition at their 20-week anatomy scan, changing their lives forever. Click here to read his story.

The Royal Children’s Hospital is seeing an increase in demand for our services, along with high acuity in our patients and increasing levels of staff illness. This is impacting wait times for our services as well as some planned surgeries.

Anthony was born with a congenital arm abnormality, leaving him with a shortened left forearm and no fingers or thumb on his left hand, but he has never let this stand in the way of aiming high. In just a few weeks, the 16-year-old will be living out his dream of representing Australia at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
