Yarra Trams conducted maintenance on Flemington Road last week. Work is now complete and trams have resumed services as normal.
“We understand it caused disruptions to the normal operation of the hospital, and access was affected, but I hope you were content with the outcomes reached given the circumstances,” Yarra Trams Project Manager, Helen Cui, said.
“Now that the construction has been successfully completed and the tracks have been renewed, we hope to provide a safer and smoother tram ride for the patients and staff at The Royal Children’s Hospital.”

The worst traffic I have ever encountered, no sinage at the major intersection of Flemington Rd off the freeway means you don’t know which lanes are closed, I watched a green light go three times as the next car to cross but I had nowhere to go as the traffic was not moving!! I was on a 1km zone for 2 hrs!!!!

Yes, it’s bad. Took us nearly 2 hours to get from the freeway off ramp to RCH this morning, left the freeway at 9:30am and arrived at 11:20am, for a 10:30am appointment. I agree, allow lots of extra time. I also agree it could have been signed better to advise which lanes were closed.

Absolute nightmare this morning. I spent 1.5 hours going from the freeway to RCH. Left home at 6:55 and arrived at 9.30 for my 8:30 appointment. Absolutely appalling and horrific traffic conditions. Shame on you city of Melbourne for allowing this mess to bring the city to a stop.

My sister in law had an appt at RWH it took her 3 hrs to get down flemington road. She missed her oncology appt. by 2 hrs. Shame on you city of Melbourne. Why couldn’t the work be done at night.
