COVID-19 exposure at the RCH food court

Three private retail food outlets in The Royal Children’s Hospital food court – McDonald’s, Aruba and Shuji Sushi – are temporarily closed for deep cleaning after a back-of-house McDonald’s team member tested positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Health has listed McDonald’s as a Tier 2 site from 5.00pm to 9.00pm on Friday 20 August. Anyone who visited the site during this time should get tested immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result.

A COVID-19 exposure response has been activated and our teams are working closely and quickly with the Department to determine any further actions that might be required. Updated advice will become available as the Department’s contact tracing process continues.

The safety and care of our patients and families remains our highest priority. Please do not visit the hospital if you are unwell, and if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please get tested immediately and isolate at home until you receive a negative result and your symptoms have fully resolved.

Thank you for your continued support and playing your part to keep us all safe.

A reminder that children’s COVID-19 testing is available at our Respiratory Infection Clinic, open daily between 8.30am to 4.15pm. https://www.rch.org.au/covid/Respiratory_Infection_Clinic
