The RCH has been shortlisted as a finalist for six Victorian Public Healthcare Awards this year, including the prestigious Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year.
The awards recognise leadership and excellence in the provision of publicly-funded healthcare for the Victorian community.
RCH CEO John Stanway said this was a tremendous result for our hospital and congratulated all involved.
“I am immensely proud of the projects we put forward and to once again be nominated for the Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year is a real honour,” he said.
“It is a credit to the staff involved in these projects and I commend everyone for their continued commitment to improving the way we deliver great care to our patients.”
The RCH has been shortlisted as a finalist in the below categories:
- Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year
- Improving Children’s Health: New enhanced recovery pathway after spinal fusion delivers improved outcomes
- Improving Children’s Health: Using big data to improve access to outpatient clinics
- Improving healthcare through clinical research: Liquid gold: improving how we collect urine samples from young children
- Safer Care Victoria award for excellence in quality and safety: BREATHe: a quality improvement initiative to improve the safety of paediatric emergency airway management
- Secretary’s Award for improving integration of care for patients with chronic and complex conditions: Care is a partnership (Complex Care Hub)
The RCH was also a partner in a seventh project which has been shortlisted, partnering with the Victorian Clinical Genetics Service and the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance for a project pioneering clinical genomics in undiagnosed children.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday October 26, 2016.
