The RCH Emergency Department is experiencing an unprecedented number of presentations.

To avoid a lengthy waiting period of 4-6 hours, RCH Emergency Department doctors are advising the community to have faith in their local health services, and consider visiting GPs and local hospitals where possible.

The last 48 hours have been exceedingly busy in the Emergency Department—on Sunday 18 May, a record 350 children and young people attended the Emergency Department. Previously, the highest number of presentations in a single day was 339 in June last year.
