Asher Nelson was just 24 hours old when his big sister Lara was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Now, almost three years later, he could be the key to saving her life.

Asher will soon become Lara’s bone marrow donor in a bid to help her overcome cancer.

Lara was two and a half when she was first diagnosed.

Their mother, Amber said their little girl had been lethargic and ill, but doctors blamed it on childcare bugs.

It was the day after Asher’s birth that Lara’s leukaemia diagnosis was confirmed at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
