Every day Rison Gamage’s parents wake praying this will be the day of his rebirth.

It is a cruel reality when hoping for another family’s tragedy means a new life for your own. The 11-month-old’s yellow eyes are the tell-tale sign that he needs the life-saving gift of a new liver.

At The Royal Children’s Hospital Rison was diagnosed with the life-threatening condition Biliary atresia, in which blocked bile ducts from the liver cause toxins to build up in the body.
