Dr Kate Willoughby Senior Clinical Physiotherapist, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Hip Surveillance Physiotherapist: Hip displacement in cerebral palsy: The need for a randomised clinical trial.

Dr Unni Narayanan is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at the Hospital for Sick Children and the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto and a Senior Scientist in the Bloorview Research Institute. Dr Narayanan’s clinical practice is focused primarily on the care of children with cerebral palsy. His research has focused on understanding patient priorities for the development of outcome measures for use in clinical trials to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and health care technologies for musculoskeletal disorders in children. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, most recently the Arthur H. Huene Memorial Award from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) for his work on CP hip outcomes. He travels widely to speak about his research and lecture on cerebral palsy, outcomes research, evidence based orthopaedics and a wide range of pediatric orthopaedic subjects.

 He has served on the Board of Directors of POSNA and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy & Developmental Medicine (AACPDM), where he currently serves as 2nd vice-president.
