RCH National Child Health Poll – A year in review – Research done differently: Innovation, impact and implications

Synopsis

The RCH National Child Health Poll was launched in December 2015 to build the level of public debate and discussion about child and adolescent health issues. The poll methodology combines the rigour of academic research with the timeliness and reach of online quantitative data collection to deliver new knowledge about the experience of children and young people, and the households and communities responsible for their wellbeing. To date, over 18 000 households have been polled on a range of topical child health issues, including immunisation, technology use and screentime, mental health and nutrition. During this Grand Round, Dr Anthea Rhodes will share some key findings of the project from the past year and outline achievements of the poll, including the unique and innovative avenues used to achieve impact and translation of the poll findings. She will also discuss insights gleaned and implications for the campus, including how clinicians and researchers might utilise the poll platform in their own work.
