Synopsis
There has been a paradigm shift over the last 10 years in the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of viral hepatitis, particularly Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. This presentation will update you on these important and exciting and new changes.
Speakers
Professor Winita Hardikar FRACP, PhD is a paediatric hepatologist, Head of the Liver and Intestinal Transplant program and Director of the Department of Gastroenterology. Winita had been involved for over 2 decades in the care of children with hepatitis, in clinical research, development of international guidelines, and as a principal investigator in multicentre treatment trials of viral hepatitis.
Dr Elizabeth Bannister FRACP is a paediatric hepatologist/Gastroenterologist in the department of Gastroenterology. She is currently completing her PhD on the molecular virology of Hepatitis B in African Children in Australia.
