Paternal, social, and mental health perspectives on adolescent and adult male health

Synopsis
To acknowledge the 30th anniversary of International Men’s Health Week, this Grand Round will be a panel
discussion addressing the paternal, social, and mental health perspectives of men’s health, including
fertility, health and wellbeing promotion, positive masculinity and the intergenerational influences on young
people today.

 

Speakers
Moderator:
Professor David Amor is the Lorenzo and Pamela Galli Chair, Department of Paediatrics, University of
Melbourne; clinical geneticist, VCGS; Group Leader, MCRI. Consultant clinical geneticist and clinician
scientist with a research focus on genetics, intellectual and physical disability.

Panel:
Dr Karin Hammarberg is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Public Health and Preventative
Medicine, Monash University, and registered nurse with extensive clinical and research experience in
fertility health promotion and infertility care.
Professor Robert McLachlan is Principal Research Fellow of the Australian NHMRC and male
reproductive health physician and scientist with particular interest in male infertility and assisted
reproduction.
Simon Moore is a Registered nurse and Founder of Strong Dads and past participant of Working out Dads.
