The Centre for Adolescent Health: Supporting the healthy development of young people

Spanning the three campus partners, the Centre for the Adolescent Health has driven actions for adolescent health over more than 3 decades, with the aim of understanding and promoting the healthy development of young people, locally and globally. Newly appointed as a Professor of Adolescent Health, Professor Peter Azzopardi will share his personal journey in adolescent health, and in doing so will celebrate the legacy of the late Professor George Patton.

Professor Peter Azzopardi leads a program of research focusing on global adolescent health and well-being. He co-chairs WHO’s Global Action for Measurement of Adolescent Health initiative, is a member of WHO’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of Experts, was a Commissioner on the 2016 Lancet Commission on Adolescent Health and is making a leading contribution to the 2nd Lancet Commission for Adolescent Health and Wellbeing. Professor Azzopardi co-leads a research group on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adolescent health at Telethon Kids Institute.
