{"id":9200,"date":"2021-10-06T16:59:46","date_gmt":"2021-10-06T05:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=9200"},"modified":"2021-10-06T16:59:46","modified_gmt":"2021-10-06T05:59:46","slug":"covid-19-update-from-the-rch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/covid-19-update-from-the-rch\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 update from the RCH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>With COVID-19 so active in the community, it is an unfortunate inevitability that there will be exposures in hospitals \u2013 and on every occasion these are managed in line with the Department of Health guidelines.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We currently have a number of patients and families isolating in the RCH, including in our Kookaburra ward, as a precautionary measure due to exposures. These exposures are not related to positive patients.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t our first exposure and sadly it won\u2019t be our last: this is the reality of hospitals in a pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The safety and care of our patients and families remains our highest priority.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve been dealing with this for more than 18 months now.
