{"id":8474,"date":"2020-11-26T11:56:25","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T00:56:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=8474"},"modified":"2020-11-26T12:10:13","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T01:10:13","slug":"the-royal-childrens-hospital-education-institute-receives-state-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/the-royal-childrens-hospital-education-institute-receives-state-recognition\/","title":{"rendered":"The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital Education Institute receives state recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Congratulations to our Education Institute, whose Special Kindergarten Program has been recognised at the 2020 Victorian Early Years Awards!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program received the prestigious Minister\u2019s Award, which is personally selected by the Minister for Early Childhood.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8476 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/11\/Victorian-Early-Ed-280x280.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The RCH\u2019s Special Kindergarten Program enables four-year-old children, who have limited-to-no access to community kindergarten settings due to poor health, vulnerability, disadvantage or hospitalisation, to take part in vital early childhood education suited to their individual needs.<\/p>\n<p>The program is delivered through play-based individual and group learning experiences that encourage self-discovery and nurture a child\u2019s sense of identity, autonomy and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>Erin O&#8217;Rourke, who is the Head of Education at the RCH, said that the Education Institute were honored to receive the acknowledgement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled to be recognised at the 2020 Victorian Early Awards.
