{"id":8026,"date":"2020-04-17T11:54:31","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T01:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=8026"},"modified":"2020-04-17T11:54:31","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T01:54:31","slug":"the-booster-tag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/the-booster-tag\/","title":{"rendered":"The Booster Tag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-8027 \" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/04\/001-Marcus-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"146\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/04\/001-Marcus-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/04\/001-Marcus-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/04\/001-Marcus-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2020\/04\/001-Marcus.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 219px) 100vw, 219px\" \/><strong>The RCH has worked with RACV and TAC on a new tag on children\u2019s clothing, helping parents identify when it may be the right time to take their child out of a booster seat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Booster Tag is a road safety initiative by RACV and TAC and is a simple new way for parents to know if kids still need to use a booster seat, based on the clothing they\u00a0wear.<\/p>\n<p>If a child fits clothing displaying the Booster Tag it means they\u2019re still likely to be under 145cm tall and safest travelling in a booster seat on our roads \u2013 no matter how old they\u00a0are.<\/p>\n<p>Once a child has outgrown clothes displaying the Booster Tag, parents can check they\u2019re seatbelt-ready with the 5-Step\u00a0Test.<\/p>\n<p>The RCH National Child Health Poll found parents are really confused as to when they can safely move their child out of a booster seat. The Poll found only three per cent of Australian parents know that a child needs to be at least 145cm tall to safely sit without a booster seat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-44781 \" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/intranetnews\/files\/2020\/04\/010_Tag-560x373.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"163\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Booster Tag is a clever and innovative\u00a0initiative to help remind\u00a0parents that their child is very likely to still need a booster\u00a0seat.
