{"id":7886,"date":"2020-03-06T12:30:31","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T01:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=7886"},"modified":"2020-03-06T12:42:36","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T01:42:36","slug":"treatment-of-gender-dysphoria-in-children-and-young-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/treatment-of-gender-dysphoria-in-children-and-young-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Treatment of gender dysphoria in children and young people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Chairman of The Royal Children\u2019s Hospital, The Hon Rob Knowles AO and CEO John Stanway have issued a statement in response to The Royal Australasian College of Physicians\u2019 position on the treatment of gender dysphoria in children and young people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The College has called on the Government to increase the availability of gender services for young people and said improving access to expert clinical care should be a national priority.<\/p>\n<p>In its public statement, the College said: \u201cThe RACP strongly supports expert clinical care that is non-judgmental, supportive and welcoming for children, adolescents and their families experiencing gender dysphoria.
