{"id":6496,"date":"2017-10-25T13:33:44","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T02:33:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=6496"},"modified":"2017-10-25T13:42:15","modified_gmt":"2017-10-25T02:42:15","slug":"the-rch-appoints-its-new-chief-executive-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/the-rch-appoints-its-new-chief-executive-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"The RCH appoints its new Chief Executive Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal Children\u2019s Hospital is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, John Stanway.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/10\/John-Stanway.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6497\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/10\/John-Stanway-400x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr Stanway had been acting in the CEO role since the departure of Professor Christine Kilpatrick in April.<\/p>\n<p>RCH Chairman, the Hon Rob Knowles AO, said John\u2019s appointment followed an extensive recruitment process that included a very strong field of candidates. He said Mr Stanway\u2019s leadership-style and vision were what made him the right person to take the RCH into the future.<\/p>\n<p>Under his leadership as acting CEO, the RCH has delivered Australian-first models of care and innovation that have increased the efficiency and quality of patients\u2019 care, Mr Knowles added.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to acting as CEO, John was the RCH\u2019s Chief Operating Officer for more than 10 years, overseeing clinical operations. From 2012, John also held the position of Deputy CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining The Royal Children\u2019s Hospital, John managed Monash Medical Centre, was Chief Executive of the Transport Accident Commission and held various senior management roles at General Motors Holden.<\/p>\n<p>John has a double major in Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
