{"id":6244,"date":"2017-08-11T14:11:38","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T04:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=6244"},"modified":"2017-08-11T14:17:47","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T04:17:47","slug":"micks-mammoth-mission-for-young-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/micks-mammoth-mission-for-young-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Mick&#8217;s mammoth mission for young people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mick Creati, a Paediatrician at\u00a0The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital,\u00a0has started his journey across the Nullarbor to raise money for the Chronic Illness Peer Support Program (ChIPS).<\/p>\n<p>Mick\u2019s journey began this week in Perth, and will see him ride his recumbent bicycle 4,000 kilometres in 20 days across the Nullarbor to Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>Mick hopes to raise $20,000, with all funds going towards supporting the ongoing running of the ChIPS Program.<\/p>\n<p>The Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) Program is for young people aged 12 to 25 years living with a chronic illness. ChIPS is based at Department of Adolescent Medicine, Royal Children\u2019s Hospital, Melbourne.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/08\/Mick_FacebookDay1-004.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6245\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/08\/Mick_FacebookDay1-004-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/08\/Mick_FacebookDay1-004-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2017\/08\/Mick_FacebookDay1-004.jpg 756w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>ChIPS is a vibrant program for young people, led by young people.
