\"Georgia\"The RCH’s Dr Georgia Paxton has been\u00a0inducted onto the Victorian Honour Roll of Women on\u00a0International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

The Honour Roll of Women acknowledges and celebrates hundreds of extraordinary women and the long lasting contributions they have made to Victoria, and more broadly, Australia.<\/p>\n

“Dr Georgia Paxton is the Head of the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Immigrant Health Service. She has dedicated more than a decade to improving the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in an increasingly challenging environment,”\u00a0Minister for Women and Prevention of Family Violence Fiona Richardson said.<\/p>\n

“Today we recognise Georgia\u2019s outstanding work as we induct her into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.”<\/p>\n

In 2011, Georgia led the Victorian Government Refugee Status Report. In 2014, she assisted the Human Rights Commission Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention.<\/p>\n

\u201cRefugee health is complex and challenging,\u201d RCH CEO Christine Kilpatrick said. \u201cGeorgia\u2019s determination to improve the bigger picture has seen her become a trusted voice in the field. Georgia has also earned the support of high calibre opinion leaders including the late Malcolm Fraser.\u201d<\/p>\n
