Photo courtesy of the Herald Sun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Brave Minni Anstee has just clocked up 600 days in The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>At two years\u00a0of age\u00a0Minni is the second-smallest patient in the world to receive a radical blood boosting treatment. Her parents hope that this treatment will allow Minni to soon return home.<\/p>\n<p>Minni was diagnosed with severe immunodeficiency and\u00a0has been\u00a0living in a special isolation ward since she was three months old. Being born with no immune system, the &#8220;girl in the bubble&#8221; has not slept a night outside the hospital since her diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because she&#8217;s been in here for so long it&#8217;s normal to her. She copes with all the needles and medication,&#8221; say parents Sam and Danielle, adding that in spite of everything &#8220;she&#8217;s still a very content kid&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>When Minni was six months old she received stem cell treatment injections to\u00a0develop a new immune system. But five months later, she suffered transplant complications.<\/p>\n<p>Minni&#8217;s parents have gained new hope since she has been receiving a new treatment in which her blood is filtered with ultra-violet light to stimulate the immune system. &#8220;Her lungs have improved and her skin is much better.
