{"id":2679,"date":"2013-03-23T03:12:31","date_gmt":"2013-03-22T16:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/inthenews\/?p=2679"},"modified":"2015-04-29T13:40:11","modified_gmt":"2015-04-29T03:40:11","slug":"a-special-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/a-special-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"A special bond between three RCH patients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/2013\/03\/23\/a-special-bond-between-three-rch-patients\/untitled-18\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2689\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2689\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/files\/2013\/03\/untitled8-210x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>Three patients at The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital (RCH) have developed a special bond after their battles with the same rare genetic condition.<\/p>\n<p>Three-year-old Mia\u00a0Mircevski and 11-year-old Hannah Ayres and Elizabeth Rickard all\u00a0received\u00a0recent bone marrow transplants to treat\u00a0Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH).<\/p>\n<p>Despite having the same\u00a0genetic\u00a0condition the three girls all\u00a0experienced varying critical symptoms.
