Photo courtesy of the Herald Sun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A year ago brothers Giorgios and Nikolas Papastratis could only interact through the glass door to Nikolas&#8217; room at The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Nikolas was in isolation while awaiting a life-saving bone-marrow transplant from his older brother Giorgios, after being diagnosed with an aggressive and treatment-resistant form of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, called MLL.<\/p>\n<p>After a harrowing year for the Papastratis family, including a relapse, two-year-old Nikolas is\u00a0finally entering remission but\u00a0will still undergo radiotherapy before two-years of oral chemotherapy.<\/p>\n<p>Father Stel said 11-year-old Giorgios had played a big part in Nikolas&#8217; recovery and the boys would always share a special bond over the gift of life that had been granted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He always says: &#8216;Giorgios, not go to school&#8217;.
