Photo courtesy of Seven News.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Connor Anastasopoulos fought for his life and defied the odds when he was just days old, after\u00a0he contracted a\u00a0serious strain of viral meningitis.<\/p>\n<p>At The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital (RCH)\u00a0Connor was placed\u00a0on life-support\u00a0and given just hours to live after\u00a0he suffered a heart attack caused by meningitis. RCH paediatrician Dr Nigel Crawford said, &#8220;Sometimes it\u00a0(meningitis) can affect the heart, as it did in Connor, which\u00a0clearly made him very sick and unwell in that early phase of his life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Remarkably\u00a0Connor pulled through and was able to come off the life support machines.
